Той хто знає родину Ляриси і Любомира Зєликів, знає що вона тісно пов’язана з українськими народними звичаями. У своїх трьох доньок вони зуміли скріпити любов і пошану до української культури і мистецтва. Усі є довголітні жителі Гантеру які постійно та ентузіястично уділяються у парафії й громаді.

У зв’язку з нашою ювілейною, архівною серією «Жива історія», пропонуємо оцей уривок в якому Ляриса Зєлик розповідає про їхні початки у Гантері, а саме про свій «медовий місяць» з чоловіком Любомиром та анекдоти про співжителів і сусідів.

Щиро запрошуємо приймати участь у «Живій історії» та зголоситися записати свої спогади.

For those who know Larysa and Lubomyr Zielyk, it comes as no surprise that they are best known on the Ukrainian Mountaintop for their passion for Ukrainian folk art and traditions. They successfully passed along a love and respect for Ukrainian culture and art to their three daughters, and all of them have been enthusiastic and longtime members of our parish and community.

In this next installment of excerpts from the “Ukrainian Mountaintop Oral History Project”, Larysa regales us with memories of the Zielyk’s early years here, including her honeymoon with Lubomyr and anecdotes about their neighbors and acquaintances (in Ukrainian).

Here’s an amazing find: a 16mm film by Maria Lampika of the blessing of the church, the building of the Grazhda in the early 1970s, as well as summer and winter clips by the church. Who do you recognize in the film?

Липень медовий – бджілок чарує / July – the month of bees & honey

Як багатьом Вам вже відомо, наш ювілейний сезон щасливо і радісно відкрився у суботу 30-го червня, із вельми успішним Фестивалем на терені церкви. Неофіційні спостерігачі припускають що до нас завітало майже 400 осіб! Ми вдячні за Вашу присутність і доброзичливість які додали до веселого настрою того дня.

Наше ліття триває і протягом липня і серпня можна оглядати пропам’ятну виставку фотографій «Пів століття – знимками» та альбом весільних знимок і запрошень. Ці експонати знаходяться у Ґражді. Рівнож, на другому поверсі можна насолодитися літною виставкою українського народного мистецтва. У крамничці продається ювілейна книга «Спомини гантерців» як також різні ювілейні вироби.

Знову цього літа будемо пропонувати льоси і виграшки, але в обмежиному виді. Отже, ласкаво прибудьте у неділю 29-го липня, 5-го серпня і 12-го серпня, щоб скористати з нагод виграти різні прегарні, подаровані речі. Квитки будуть на продаж біля Ґражди, підчас буфету. Весь прибуток, як звичайно, піде на користь Фонду 50-ліття.

Доречі, з приводу Вашої щедрості і ласкавості, ми вже дуже близько мети благодійної кампанії. Просимо подивитися на поргрес цієї акції на сторінці «Ювілейні фонди/Jubilee Sponsorships».

As many of you know, our jubilee season got off to a wonderful start with an entertaining and successful Festival on church grounds on Saturday, June 30th. Unofficial reports put the number of visitors at almost 400! We are grateful to all of you who participated and lent such a celebratory spirit to the day.

The season continues with our summerlong series of photo exhibits: «50 Years in Pictures» and the Wedding Album, which can be viewed at the Grazhda. On the second floor, you are welcome to peruse a charming exhibit of Ukrainian Folk Art. You may also purchase the Jubilee Book of Memories and a collection of commemorative jubilee items in the gift shop.

We will again be offering raffles and prizes this summer, although in a somewhat limited fashion. Please join us on Sunday, July 29th, August 5th and August 12th in order to be eligible to win a variety of lovely, donated prizes. We’ll be selling raffle tickets at the Grazhda during lunch at the buffet. All proceeds will go to the 50th Jubilee Fund.

Finally, a quick reminder about our end-of-summer event at the church: on Sunday, September 2nd, we’ll be celebrating our Golden Jubilee with a Pontifical Divine Liturgy, Banquet and Anniversary Program.
