УГКЦ св. Івана Хрестителя у Гантері влаштуватиме Фестиваль з нагоди 50-ліття свого існування

У суботу 30-го червня відбудеться ювілейний фестиваль для громади з нагоди 50-ліття церкви св. Івана Хрестителя у Гантері. Церква знаходиться на Ukraine Road біля дороги 23А у місті Джует, Н.Й., приблизно 6 миль на захід від Гантерської гори (Hunter Mountain).

Це буде весела і святкова нагода відкрити ювілейний сезон парафії який припадає цього року. Фестиваль має на меті привабити сотки парафіян, прихожан, туристів і жителів окружніх сіл і міст. Всіх запрошено, українців як також не-українців, щоби краще запізнати українську культуру або просто вшанувати пів століття цієї унікальної церкви і парафії, серед чудових мальовничих Кетскильських гір.

Підчас фестивалю можна буде оглянути виставку українського народного мистецтва, веселитися представленнями музичних і танцювальних ансамблів, приймати участь у відбиванковому турнірі та користуватися послугами «медичної станції» (тут бажаючі можуть перевірити тиск крови, і.т.п.) Також, пропонується якісні та популярні вироби продавців, дитячі заняття, традиційні українські страви, печиво і багато ще чого.

Рівнож відбудеться відкриття пропам’ятної виставки фотографій церкви і парафіян п.н. «Пів століття знимками». Виставка знимок експонуватиметься у Ґражді протягом літа разом із щорічною виставкою мистецтва.
Приєднайтеся до святкувань золотого ювілею церкви св. Івана Хрестителя що вже 50-ть років збагачує цей особливий кут «Ню Йоркських Карпат».

Відбиванковий турнір починається о годині 9-ій рано.

Офіційне відкриття фестивалю відбудеться урочистою церемонією на терені церкви у годині 11-ій рано.

St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Jewett Center, N.Y. to hold 50th Jubilee Festival in June

St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church’s 50th Jubilee Festival will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012 on Ukraine Road, off of Route 23A, Jewett Center, New York in Greene County (6 miles west of Hunter Mountain).

This commemorative and fun occasion unveils the parish’s jubilee season and will attract hundreds of parishioners, visitors, tourists, and residents. Whether it’s to experience a new culture, get in touch with your roots, or just be part of the anniversary celebration, all are invited to enjoy the serenity of the mountains and celebrate half-a-century of the church’s contribution to the local mountaintop community.

The Festival will feature Ukrainian folk art (including “pysanky” Ukrainian Easter eggs, ceramics, embroidery and more), tours, exhibits, entertainment, inspiring Ukrainian music, Ukrainian dancers in vibrant costumes, a colorful and creative kids program, vendors offering cultural treasures, (fine jewelry, embroidered and hand-made goods), a health care station offering blood pressure screening and health checks, an exciting volleyball tournament, a bakery with sweet delicacies (pies and tortes), and savory traditional Ukrainian cuisine (varenyky, stuffed cabbage, borscht, kielbasa).

Saturday’s Festival will also premier the jubilee photo exhibit titled “50 Years in Pictures” which will be displayed in Grazhda’s gallery throughout the summer along with the annual fine art exhibit.

Be “Ukrainian for a Day” and join in the festivities surrounded by the beauty of the Catskill Mountains, which so resemble the Carpathian Mountains of Ukraine. Relax in the health care tent, peruse literature featuring Ukrainian venues, observe the volleyball tournament, delight in the bakery, meander through the folk art exhibit, immerse yourself in folk culture, and sample the one-of-a-kind food.

Volleyball tournament gets underway at 9:00 AM

Opening Ceremony begins at 11:00 AM
