Щиро вітаємо з приводу Різдва Христового і Нового 2012 Року! Маємо приємність Вас повідомити про те що за останний рік, проведено добру і корисну роботу при нашій церкві. Парафіяльний комітет совісно і гідно виконав свої програмові, адміністративні й господарські обов’язки включно з обкладенням каменем підмурівки в Ґражді й у хижі, а організаційний комітет святкувань 50-ліття почав ставити перші кроки у підготовці до ювілейних імпрез в літі 2012 р.
Можемо також сповістити що хоч деякі наші сусіди і окружні селища Кетскильських гір сильно потерпіли у зв’язку з серпневою тропічною бурєю «Іреною», нашу церковцю і церковні будинки вбільшості оминула стихія. Всерівно, відчуваємо її наслідки: через те що проходить велика перебудова навколишних сіл, змушені припинити пошук за контрактором який би наложив нову поверхню асфальту на церковній площі. Рівнож, пивниця у хижі залилася водою руйнуючи підлогу. Маємо на меті направити підлогу як також, згодом, встановити новий дах на хижі.
Зрештою, плануємо якнайкраще прикрасити нашу оселю до часу святкувань «золотого ювілею» цього літа! Щиро запрошуємо Вас приймати участь в усіх імпрезах і заняттях починаючи з фестивалем для громади 30-го червня і завершуючи з урочистою Архиєрейською Службою Божою і святковою програмою 2-го вересня. Все відбуватиметься на терені церкви. *

Віримо що з Божою опікою і Вашою щедрою допомогою, зможемо зберегти центр церковного і громадського життя у Гантері і яскраво відзначити його пів століття. Christ is Born! Let us Glorify Him!
Greetings for a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year! We are very pleased to inform you that the past year has been a productive one at St. John’s. The Parish Committee has been busy conscientiously carrying out their programs and administrative responsibilities, including completing masonry work on the foundation of the Grazhda and rectory, while the 50th Anniversary Organizational Committee has been preparing for next summer’s jubilee celebrations.
We can also report that though several of our neighbors and many hamlets across the Mountaintop suffered greatly in the wake of August’s tropical storm “Irene”, our church and complex of buildings were fortunately, spared much damage. We are however, feeling some of the repercussions: as a result of major rebuilding efforts across the Catskills, our search for a contractor to repave around the church has been suspended until further notice. Additionally, the rectory basement floor experienced water damage. We have plans to repair the floor and in future, the roof of the rectory as well.
After all, we are in the process of beautifying our church grounds in time for our “golden jubilee” this summer! You and your family are warmly invited to take part in all of the wonderful events we have scheduled starting with the Community Festival on Saturday, June 30th and culminating in the Pontifical Liturgy and Anniversary Program on Sunday, September 2nd. All of these events will be taking place at the church. *

As you know, these projects and plans would not be possible without the moral and financial support of our community.
